Most iRock band lessons are funded through a simple monthly subscription paid by parents or guardians. To make music education accessible to all families, iRock also offers funded and subsidised places in partnership with schools. Every school receives at least one free bursary place, with additional places available through iRock’s matched funding scheme, where iRock funds one extra place for every five pupils supported by the school. No. iRock offers exam-free qualifications in Group Performance (Music). Children can gain formal recognition for their progress without the pressure of traditional music exams. The RSL qualification is a music award delivered in partnership with a globally recognised and Ofqual-regulated Contemporary Arts awarding body, RSL Awards. Assessment takes place during normal iRock lessons, allowing children to develop musical and performance skills naturally, with no extra work or additional costs. To be eligible, children must be enrolled with iRock by January of each academic year. There is no additional cost associated with this qualification; entry and assessment is included with your monthly subscription cost.

iRock offers children enrolled the chance to work towards an Ensemble Music qualification, delivered in partnership with globally-recognised and Ofqual-regulated awarding body in Contemporary Arts, RSL Awards. Unlike traditional music grades, this is an exam-free qualification, which means children can achieve recognition for their progress without the pressure of formal testing. Children are assessed within their regular iRock lessons, allowing them to develop key musical and performance skills naturally, without extra work or additional costs. Our carefully structured curriculum ensures that every child, in every year group, is always working towards their next achievement, making their musical journey both rewarding and fun. Each iRock Band Coach is part of a large network of field staff. If a coach is unavailable, another qualified coach will cover the lesson to ensure continuity.

No. iRock supplies all instruments and equipment needed for lessons. Schools only need to provide a suitable space. If a child wishes to continue playing at home, Band Coaches are happy to advise families on suitable instruments.

Pupils watch popular songs performed live and help build a real band on stage in minutes, demonstrating how quickly children can succeed when learning together.
